Welcome

Hi, this is Sam Berlin introducing you to my writing… Welcome.

My work probes the intricate facets of humanity, sometimes obliquely, sometimes in a more straightforward manner. I take inspiration from the pictures we paint of ourselves and others, recognising that these portrayals rarely can be said to represent any kind of objective reality. The human condition is infinitely fascinating and mining it is both arduous and rewarding. The more complex we make our lives, the more we find ourselves imprisoned by our own prejudices. I try to capture this in my works.

You will find links to short stories, teasers for longer works of fiction and pitches for various screenplays. Some of the longer works are finished, some in relatively rough draft form. I’ll leave you to decide for yourself which is which. I will add more work as and when…
